What a busy day!

all-the-eggs.jpgHello everyone!  We have had a busy day (yesterday, too) so I didn’t have time to post last night.  We did some fun “spring” shopping yesterday since the kids were out of school.  We did the “family thing” with all 6 of us shopping………very rare for us……..and it had it’s moments.   Our main goal was to find shoes for Allyson and she has a narrow foot.  Any of you have those problems?  Well, just imagine trying to find an adolescent girl some attractive church shoes that meet her criteria and then she needs a narrow.  It is just not that fun!  However, we were successful and we also found some cute clothes for all of the girls (and Malachi, too!).  All in all, a very fun day.  But the best part was that I concluded the day by going scrapbooking at Crop-Paper-Scissors (our local scrapbooking store) with my neighbor.  We had a ton of fun and we got alot of pages done!

So, today we helped a family in our church with their yardwork.  They are retired missionaries, and they donated money for Allyson and Lindsey’s trip to Nicaragua in exchange for their help on the yard.  Charles, Allyson, and Lindsey will go with our Youth Group in July — more on that trip as it nears.  Right now, our main focus is earning money to pay for them to go.  So, we do work projects almost every week in hopes of earning more money.

The highlight of the day was dying eggs.  We had not done this in a few years, so they all wanted to do it this year.  They had alot of fun.  This picture shows the finished products! You will notice some very creative artwork including a cow egg and a flamingo egg!

Today’s Stampin’ Up! project is a journal that we made at our February Stamp Club.  It is a blank unlined  journal purchased from Bare Books.  www.barebooks.com    They are inexpensive, come in a variey of sizes, and come with journaling lines as well.  They are a paper type of finish, not glossy, and PERFECT for stamping.  I covered the spine of the book with Designer Series Paper and used Sticky Strip to hold it down firm.  The paper I used is RETIRED (shame on me!) but other papers will look great, too!   These make excellent gifts for friends, teachers, and co-workers.

Supplies used:  Stamp sets:  Big Pieces, Little Pieces, Taffy Alphabet (my new favorite!); Ink pads:  Purely Pomegranate, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava;  Double Stitched Ribbon:  Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava;  Accessories:  Horizontal Slot Punch, Sticky Strip

Happy Easter!

Love, Dawn
