Weekend Review

Hello friends!  It was another busy weekend (really starting on Thursday) at our house, but now here we are facing another Monday.  I told someone last week that we should just call it another name and maybe it wouldn’t “seem” like a Monday.  Maybe I will try it sometime.  But for now, guess we will tackle another Monday on the calendar.

Thursday was the Middle School track meet hosted by our district.  Lindsey ran the hurdles.  The evening was fun, including my shift in the Concession stand.  We finished clean up and then homework (yes, after the track meet!) by about 11:30 p.m.  Friday got even more interesting when the baby decided to spike a fever (for no apparent reason, per the doctor) and added a little more excitement to my life.  Started a round of antibiotics, but Saturday he woke up “good as new”.  Whatever!  Saturday started with the High School Track Meet (Allyson pole vaulted)  so that started us off bright and early at 8:30 am URGHH!  Then I had a bridal shower that I helped host (much more fun than the track meet), followed by working on a 3-D CELL science project……….are you getting the picture???  Sunday was equally as crowded, but filled with many special moments.   One of the highlights was Sarah participating in the church Bible Drill Competition.  This is big time HARD if you have never heard of this.  She only missed one call out of 24.  They are timed and have to respond to each call in a matter of seconds.  It is very stressful, but such a valuable thing for Sarah.  Allyson and Lindsey participated in grades 4-6 also, and they still remember scriptures  they memorized.  It is truly hidden in their hearts forever when it is committed to memory!  She now advances to the Regional Drill and will travel on to the State Drill in Dallas.  I will send a photo of that in April!

Well, I promise to not give you blow by blow of every day………most of you are probably not that interested, but I hope it is fun to feel a part of the family somtimes!

Now for the Stampin’ Up! project!

I made this card a long time ago, but it is still one of my favorites!  I love the set, the papers, the colors, and the BLING!  Yes, Stampin’ Up! is getting even more trendy with their Rhinestone brads (in circle and squares).  If you would like to come to a Stampin’ Up! workshop, be a part of a Stampin’ Club, or talk to me about Stampin’ Up! please let me know.  It is one of my favorite things in life!  I have been a demonstrator for 10 years, and I can’t imagine my life without stamps, ink, and paper!

Supplies used:  Stamps:  Ginormous Flowers; Paper:  Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Designer Series Paper Flowers for You; Ink:  Tempting Turqoise, Taken with Teal, Old Olive;  Accessories: 5-Petal flower Punch; White Grosgrain ribbon,  “Ice” circle rhinestone brad.

Upcoming classes:  This Thursday, April 3rd (Badge Book and 3 cards);  Thursday April 17th (Tart and Tangy class);  Tuesday, April 29th (Paper Topiary Class)  Photos online this week for these last 2 classes!  Promise!

More tomorrow!  Dawn
