Hodgepodge Hardware Samples

Good morning.  I need to start the post with a little reminder about my Ribbon Share.  I still have room for 2 more this group.  I can order the ribbon right away if I have 2 more takers.  If you are unsure about the details, please see THIS POST.  Thanks!

I found a little bit of “me time” last night and played with the Hodgepodge Hardware.  I don’t know what it is about embellishments like this, but I tend to “hoard” them!  I save them for “something special” and act like they can’t be replaced.  Well…….I am setting a new resolution to USE THE STUFF over and over again.  Why save it?  I know where I can buy some more 🙂  And it is on SALE right now, so you should buy some, too!  Take a look at these fun cards!

So, would you like to know how to do it?  First, make the “base” of the card.  It should look like this.  Use your Word Window Punch to make a slit where your tag slides in and out.

Next, stamp your tag, apply Hodgepodge Hardware to the end for a pull tab, and have it ready.  Use your word window punch again to make a little tab for the other end.  You want it to be slightly bigger than it really is so that it “stops” and does not pull out all the way.  To do this, you fold a piece of cardstock in half and punch it like this:

Attach it to the end of the tag and it should look like this:

On this one, I actually made the tab a little too long, and had to trim the edge off a little bit, but you get the idea 🙂

Now you will place the tag into the slot on your card.  Wiggle it and bend it slightly to get it inserted in the slot you created on the card front.  Now pull it in and out to make sure it slides.  Be careful to not get excess adhesive anywhere or it might not slide easily.

The last step is to attach the “B” on top of that opening so you hide it!  I recommend attaching with Dimensionsals.  This raises it up a little bit and helps the slider work better.   The paper featured on this card is Jersey Shore.

The second card I made uses the stamp set One of a Kind.  I love this set, and we have so many co-ordinating accessories for this stamp set.  I highly recommend the Boho Blossoms Punch.  After you stamp the images on cardstock, you can punch the exact shapes!  WOW!  This is my favorite part.  I would like to point out the Hodgepodge on this card is in the Styled Silver.  It is the newest variety and was featured in the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog.  It is also on SALE!!!  The paper used on this card is Berry Bliss.

This is one of my favorite cards………but super easy!  The ribbon slider in the middle of the flower is a tiny piece in this hodgepodge set.  It is the perfect little accent!  The felt flowers are from the Flower Fusion kit shown on the right.  For $14.95 you get 130 flowers in 3 different colors.  I love these flowers!  The only thing I stamped on this cards was the verse (from Polka Dots and Petals which is retiring soon).  This was an “original” idea, although very simple!  I loved that I actually did NOT copy something on this card!  The paper featured on this card is Bali Breeze.

Don’t forget to call me with your order of Hardware.  It is available only WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

Love the birthday card – what stamp set is the “B” in??? How often are you planning on ordering for the ribbon share? Is it monthly or just when you post something on the blog? Sorry for all the questions this morning!
