I’m home!!!

For all of you “early birds” who check the blog as often as you drink water……..I am home!  The catalogs are NOT here yet, but I expect them today.  I know of others in Texas who got their boxes on Friday.  I will UPDATE this post if they arrive so you will know.   My UPS man usually comes by 11:00, so I will hopefully be doing a “happy dance” by then!

EDITED UPDATE:  Mr. Brown came today…..but NO CATALOGS…..just another order!  BOO HOO!!! I am so sorry, but hopefully tomorrow.  I told him that I was waiting for them and I sure hoped he brought them tomorrow!!!  Also, my friends told me that the Frankenstein card on this post is missing his right ear…….can’t imagine what happened, but I will get you a better photo and update it when I can!  OOPS!!!

I am so excited about the fun things to share with you.  I will only share in small doses and as time allows.  It is too much to digest all at once!  We have so many new things coming out this fall, some of them are not even in the catalog!  One of the neatest things is that we have formed a partnership with Sizzix and will be offering some of our own exclusive dies…….this is HUGE ladies!  It will help create some fabulous projects for our classes.  I will order mine right away so we can play with it!  Our Big Shot Sizzix machine (just like the Big Kick if you’re familiar with that) will cut through almost any type of product — not just paper.  Things like fabric, chipboard, vinyl, aluminum, cork…….it is simply amazing!  I will look forward to sharing more, but here are a few peeks!

 The Big Shot Sizzix

The cute bag has some pink plaid in it that you can’t see on the photo, and the inside is PINK with black and white polka dots!  It has my name all over it 🙂

This cute little basket is one of the SU Exclusive Dies for the Big Shot.  It it so fun!  The clear acetate flower is also cut with the Sizzix and is another example of how it cuts more than just paper!  Love it, love it, love it!  The clear letters and shapes by Heidi Swapp (called “ghost letters” in scapbooking stores nationwide) have always been one of my favorite products.  Now I will just make my own and I will NEVER run out of the letters that I need!!!

I can’t resist showing you the “Frankenstein” card made by one of my roommates, Gigi.  She really outdid herself on this one.  Can you see how she did it?  Punches that you probably already own!  Speaking of punches there are a few new ones in the catalog.  You can bet that I will order those right away and have them for our classes.

Charles and the girls got home very late on Saturday night.  They had a wonderful trip and have lots of photos to show me.   I returned last night just in time to drive to church and see the photos of the trip during our evening service.  Many of the children shared testimonies of what type of work was done on the trip and the things that God had shown them during the week.  It was an emotional time, too, as many shared heartbreaking stories of poverty, orpanages, and difficult situations.  However, it was a time of rejoicing as we saw how God is using our church and others like us to do work through El Ayudante Ministries in Leon, Nicaragua.  We have built a strong relationship with them over the past 2 years and we may go back there again in the future.  I will try to share a few photos in the future, but the girls are still sleeping right now!  Thanks for your prayers for them.  All of them remaining well (a few tummy aches was all) and the travel was without incident!  Praise the Lord for His unfailing goodness and protection!!!  I was so glad that I had Convention to keep my busy — it helped me to not worry so much about them.   I am so happy to be home with all my babies!

Oh, Malachi had a great week, too, and survived the week with another foster family.  They spoiled him rotten, just like we do!  God is good — all the time!!!!

  1. Hi Girl! Miss y’all already.

Sadly, the order Scott thought was my catalogs was just my last order for cardstock and such. So mine haven’t arrived either :(. My mom was so disappointed. I’m so glad we got ours at convention (woohoo).

    Glad you got home safe.
(pssst… your Frankie pic is the one missing an ear. He’s even cuter with both of them).

  2. I’m so glad you’re home!!! I missed you and I don’t even see you all the time; I’m glad everyone is home safe! Give the girls big hugs for me!!

  3. Happy to hear that everyone is home safe and doing well. I know that you had a wonderful time but am just glad to know that our sweet family is back together in Waco. We really missed you a lot.

Candice Herchenhahn sat with us during church yesterday and then ate lunch with us. Rosa’s was so full that we couldn’t find a table to left and went to Luby’s (way too expensive for my taste). I worked with Candice at Baylor so she is a dear person to me.

I was reading to Carson today out of one of his books and there was a picture of a little black boy and I said to Carson, “is that Malachi?” and he just giggled like he thought it might be. Thrilled me because he recognizes his little friends from church and our eating together.

    Love to you all,
    Diane and family.

P.S. I would really like to pay for a disc with the retirement pictures on them, please.
