I have a new job!

No, I am not kidding!  My life changed drastically this week, and in a very unexpected way!  It goes back to the summer when I was asked about doing a maternity leave for a teacher in our High School.  I have subbed here for 6 years, and was glad to say “yes” that I would do her leave……in the Spring!  She is having twins, and they are due in March.  So, for about a month now, I had planned on working quite a bit — but not until after Christmas.   Well, unfortunately this teacher has been put on bedrest for awhile, and I got a new job this week!  It is temporary, of course, but it might last a long time since she is not due until the spring.  We are taking it one day at a time as I try to recall all my English classes from WAY BACK WHEN!!!  I am teaching Senior English — British Literature.  WOW!  How much do YOU remember about British Literature???  I have learned more these past few days than the kids!

So, what does this mean for you guys???  First, keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I adjust to working full time after 16 years of being a stay-at-home mom (for the most part).  Secondly, please be patient when I don’t get to check my mail 25 times a day and return phone calls immediately.  Thirdly, I will probably have to consider fewer classes for a little while.  I know this is sad, as I love my classes, but I can’t do anything extra right now.  I will maintain my two club classes, and try to do some project classes from time to time, but just not right this minute.  I need a little time to get used to this new schedule and get through football season which is a very demanding time for me as a mother.

This is all I have time for right now, but I will update more later.  Thanks for sticking with me!  I am NOT quitting my FUN JOB — my Stampin’ Up! job in any way.  Just gotta slow down a little bit.  I love my Seniors and my co-workers are awesome!  But I love Stampin’ Up! even more…

Have a great day!  Dawn

P.S.  Malachi did leave on Wednesday.  I have no updates on that subject.  I did NOT cry all day long — thanks to my new schedule……..but it was indeed emotionally traumatic!
