Drumline Competition

Our drumlines did FABULOUS on Saturday as they competed in Plano, Texas.  I couldn’t resist showing you photos of the kids at their first competition of the year.

This is the High School Drumline.  Allyson and Lindsey play the percussion instruments on the left side of the photo.  They switch places alot, playing many different instruments in each song.

Closer-up with Lindsey on the chimes.

Allyson is on the mallets in this photo.

This is the Middle School Drumline entirely made up of 5th through 8th graders.  If you are not familiar with drumlines, this is HUGE for a small 3A school like ours.  We are so proud of them and hope they all stay in band through high school.

This last photo shows Sarah with her flag.  She is part of the “Color Guard” but she is also learning to play the French Horn in band this year.  She is doing very well, and was awarded First Chair for the third week in a row.  Guess all those years of piano lessons (which she is still doing) are starting to pay off.  She has been able to pick up the French Horn quickly and easily.

Sunday was spent playing catch-up from being gone to Football Friday night and Plano on Saturday.  No time for stamping!  Hopefully this week will allow me some creativity………if I have any momentum going after teaching English all day!

Have a great week!  Dawn
