How many of you love Target? I mean, really, what is there NOT to love about Target? I am glad that it is not very close to my house! I would spend way too many hours (or days!) combing through the merchandise and the clearance stuff. I am completely attracted to those end-caps — you know them??? I know you do……..but you don’t buy that much stuff — I know you don’t, because there is always some left for me! A note from CHARLES — he says “PLEASE buy more so my wife can not!” Well, on with the story. I do love Target and I especially love scrounging through the DOLLAR SPOT in search of the perfect items to embellish with Stampin’ Up! products. I found several things today, but I didn’t purchase all of them. I was trying to restrain from over-doing it. I always think that I will use all the stuff I buy, and then I get busy with “life” and parenting and soccer games and babies and grocery shopping and laundry and…
So, here is one little tiny thing that I knew I would find time to make and it is pretty cute. It was only $1 in the Dollar Spot………..in case you have not noticed, alot of the stuff in the DOLLAR SPOT is now $2.50. Go figure! They sucker us in the dollar spot and ask us to spend $2.50. You better watch it — it is tricky marketing at its finest!!!
I stamped the large heart image from Love You Much onto Whisper White Cardstock. I used Blender Pens and colored it in using Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Summer Sun Ink. I cut it out and mounted the heart onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Prints. I traced around the glass paperweight to get the perfect heart shape with the DSP. Lastly, I used Crystal Effects to apply the stamped image to the paperweight. Press gently in all areas to remove the air bubbles and create a smooth finish. Do not use glue. The Crystal Effects will give you a clear, glassy look, but glue will not.
