Club Projects #3 and #4

Hello friends!  I am not sure if I will have time to post this weekend, so I just decided to do the last 2 projects together.  I will be back on Monday with some cards I have made the last 2 days.  I have been working this week substituting for other teachers and the last 2 days were in the Ag Shop!  What a fun time it was……..not!!!  They watched videos all day long — exciting concepts like “Shop Safety” and “A Field Trip of the San Joaquin Valley”………and they just got better every hour!  So, to pass the time, I stamped cards!  I am so excited about some of them.  It is truly a challenge for me because I don’t have all my stuff with me…….only what I pack in a little tote bag.  At any rate,  I can at least say I did something fun while subbing!

The last 2 projects were an Acetate Box (like the ones I showed last week) and Ribbon Bookmarks.

The Acetate Box is constructed like the 2-4-6-8 Box with a separate piece of DSP for the top and bottom.  I used 4″ squares scored at 1″ all the way around.  The stamped image is from “Happy Heart Day” and the DSP is “Sweet Always”.

These bookmarks were made using a variety of products and everyone’s bookmard turned out a little different.  I gave my ladies many choices of ribbon, felt flowers, Hodgepodge Hardware and Rub-Ons so that they could customize their bookmark.  They all seemed to really enjoy this project!

The first bookmark uses a letter from “Little Letters”.  It was retired quite sometime ago, but I usually keep all my alphabets.  I still love this one — for the small size and the font style.  The middle bookmark uses a piece of Vanilla Hodgepodge.  At the top of the metal, I used Craft and Rubber Scissors to cut off the tab where you would normally attach a brad.  We learned about this at Convention last year, and I tried it out!  It works — just don’t use your good scissors……only the Craft and Rubber Scissors.   The stamped flowers are from “Best Kind of Friend”.  I colored them using Regal Rose but also tipped the edges with Bravo Burgundy to give them some shading.   The last bookmark uses a Felt Flower, a button from Button Bouquet, Linen Thread, and Rub-Ons.  Each of these turned out very different, but they were so pretty!

I can’t believe it is already Friday.  It seems that the weeks get so busy that they just fly right by.  I am looking forward to a fairly calm weekend.  Sarah has a 6th grade retreat with church, so she will be gone half of the weekend, and the older girls will have a social agenda I’m sure!  I can guarantee that it probably won’t involve me — they are teenagers, remember???

Have fun whatever you do………or enjoy some time relaxing!  Dawn
