Good Morning!

I am working today on projects for my next class.  It will be called “LOVE IS IN THE AIR” and will be held on Saturday, February 7th from 2-4 p.m.  I will be posting the projects tomorrow — possibly later today, but more realistically — tomorrow!   I just wanted you to mark you calendars, invite your friends, and come have fun!   There will be a $10 fee for this class.  It will feature “Valentine” themed projects for all of your loved ones.  You will enjoy this class!  I am planning at least one more class for February, but I will need to hold off on announcing the details until I get my first order and have time to work on some things.

It dawned on me this weekend that I never shared with you about our visit with Matthew for his fourth birthday.  Matthew was our very first foster baby and we are blessed to get to see him quite often.  He is adopted into the most wonderful family that lives nearby and has embraced our family as part of theirs.  This is one of the greatest blessings of being a foster parent!!!!  Last Sunday we celebrated his birthday with a “CARS” themed birthday and had some yummy cookie cake, too!  We had so much fun seeing him play with his new toys and celebrated his life to the fullest!   Here is our family with Matthew and our current foster baby, too.   We take pictures every year —  and so far we have been there for every birthday!  Isn’t he handsome???

Last week I created several cards using the Flower Fancy set.  I wanted to show you one of them today.  It is missing the words, but I don’t add the words to some of my cards until I am ready to send them.  Often times, I will use my flower cards for a variety of things — birthday, sympathy, anniversary, praying for you……….you name it!  Flowers always seem to do  the trick (until you need a “masculine card”!)  The large “white spot” on this card will be filled with a sentiment or a Bible verse before sending it on its way!

The colors are little “washed out” in this photo……..sorry!  I used the Bella Rose Paper for the background and half of the “Top Note” Big Shot Die for the focal point.  I totally cased this idea from somewhere……….thanks to those of you that post on Splitcoast!!!  I did a little more cutting than I normally do on my cards, so this one took a little longer to make — well worth it, though!  I love it!

Supplies Used:  Stamps:  Flower Fancy; Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Black;  Ink:  Black StazOn, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Old Olive;  Accessories:  Bella Rose DSP, Black Brads (Vintage), Dimensionals, Big Shot and Top Note Die.

Don’t forget to check back later for the class projects!

  1. Dawn,
I can’t believe that Matthew is already four. He has grown so much. I remember when he was so little and precious. How lucky you are to still be in touch with his family.
