Hello friends! I hope you enjoy this project idea. I purchased the Red Tin at Target for $1, but I have purchased tins like this at other places, too. Wal-Mart usually has them with the seasonal items, but sometimes they have things etched in the sides. I try to find the plain ones, and then I save them for various projects such as teacher gifts, hostess gifts, new neighbors, etc. To make this bucket, I used the Snowflake #2 Big Shot Die shown on page 202. I cut the snowflake out of our White Vinyl. It is sold in a roll, similar to contact paper. I had been wanting to try this for quite some time, and it was one of the easiest things I have ever done. I had no problem applying it to the can and didn’t get any wrinkles or bumps. I expected to have to “work at it” a little harder and invisioned it not laying down flat the very first time. But I was wrong. Easy as can be!
Here is a close up of the tag. I used one of our large Metal Edge Tags (page 181 IBC) and the stamped image is from Season Of Joy (page 32 IBC). My color scheme was Old Olive, Real Red, and Whisper White.
Here is a quick photo of us in the mountains yesterday…….I have a huge story to tell sometime about our HUGE Hiking Adventure to a 300 foot waterfall. Let me just say that it was rated “Moderate” on the hiking guide, but that was NOT a moderate hiking adventure unless you are a professional hiker. There were many times that we didn’t think we would make it. All nine of us made it, though, and we hiked 5 miles to the waterfall. It was gorgeous……but when we were at the waterfall, it started to POUR and the 5 miles back was in a downpour. It even hailed small ice pellets on us! It was 55 degrees when we got back to our car!!! We were so, so cold and miserable drowned rats! It was so funny……..the stuff that true memories are made of!!! We will never forget it, that’s for sure!
