A few days ago, I saw a post on Diana Gibbs’ Blog that really caught my attention. I saw how she had taken our Ivory and Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and changed it to Pixie Pink and Black. Since I love anything that is pink, I really wanted to rush to my table and make something with this ribbon. Her card was so adorable, but used a set I don’t own (or really like that much, honestly) — but make sure you check out her card, too. Here is what I created……..with flowers, of course. If you know me well, then you know I have a ton of flower stamps, and these words are from the Herb Expressions set that I used a couple of days ago. Hope you like my version of Diana’s idea…
The large flower above is from “Best Wishes and More” with a black button from the Naturals Assortment. The two smaller flowers are stamped using the 3 flower image in “One of A Kind”. I punched them out with the Boho Blossoms punch and added brads to them. I only used 2 of the 3 images. So I was wondering what some other colors would look like after seeing Diana’s video. She showed some at the end of the video clip, but I had to try it myself and see it in real life, ya’ know? So here are some samples using Lavender Lace, Summer Sun, Real Red, and Green Galore. I did learn a little lesson that the colors sometimes don’t look true to life………..such is the case with the Real Red. It looks more like Rose Red (perhaps because of the ivory stripes?) and I really didn’t like how it turned out. I was hoping for bright, true red — like our school colors! Bummer……..but still love this technique. Watch Diana’s video if you are unsure of what to do, but it is so super easy — just color the ribbon stripes with the brush tip of your marker. Make sure you color the back side, too.

WHY DON’T YOU TRY THIS ONE OUT??? And please call me if you’d like to place an order for this ribbon! It sells for $8.95 for 10 yards.
Have a blessed weekend! We have a busy one ahead……football tonight, Band competition in Austin Saturday, and a busy church schedule for Sunday. I will look forward to posting again on Monday, but probably not before then. Have fun, whatever you do!
