I {Heart} Hearts

Good morning……good Monday morning!  The kids are out of school today and it is shaping up to be a gorgeous day in Central Texas.  The “ole north wind” has drifted away for now, and we are enjoying some very mild weather.  We had a nice, calm weekend………a rarity for sure!   Lindsey and Sarah participated in a Discipleship Weekend with our church, and Allyson was gone to a soccer tournament for part of the weekend.   It was eerily quiet around here……..except for our little foster baby.  She has been a little sick with some reactions to her shots this past week (or perhaps a coincidental cold), so we stayed around the house quite a bit.  I wored VERY HARD on getting my office organized and cleaned up.  It was almost out of control.  I am happy to report that ALL of my new items are put away, ALL of my new stamps are mounted, and ALL of my mess is gone!!!!  I spent some time sewing this weekend, and I will probably show you some of those projects later in the week, too.  I was enjoying working on my quilting projects, but I also had to work on 21 MORE FLAGS for the Color Guard.  This is the LAST set of flags and these are going much faster since they do not have any appliques on them.  That is quite a blessing.  I am half-way done, and plan to finish up tomorrow so I can check another thing OFF the list!

After my office was clean and organized, I couldn’t resist making a couple of cards with one of my new stamp sets.  In Saturday’s mail, I had received the newest edition of Stampin’ Success, our Demonstrator Magazine.  I wanted to create quickly and not use many brain cells, so I decided to copy one of their ideas!  The only thing I changed was making it a full size card (theirs was a 4×4) and changing the ribbon color.  When I first saw this card, I couldn’t figure out where the tan colored paper had come from — or did they stamp it? — or what?  So, upon reading the recipe in the magazine, I found out that it is part of the Thoroughly Modern DSP.   WOW!  I would have NEVER thought to use this paper on this card, and with this color scheme.  That’s what I love about other people’s ideas — they challenge me to create new things that I would have never done on my own.   The pretty scalloped border punch is part of our Sale-A-Bration promotion.  Please visit my website for all promotional details.
