Texas Bluebonnets and a Card from Callie

I am so, so happy to announce the the annual photo shoot in the Texas Bluebonnets is over!  We have successfully taken 108 photos and most of them are good!  Well, to be honest, we took about 40 more and then I realized that the fancy-smancy camera of mine was on the wrong setting — oops!  Thankfully, the sun had not retired too much to quickly start recapturing the ones that were messed up!  My girls would have been so mad if we’d had to do it all over again………and we don’t have another night this week that would work out well, either!  So here are 2 of my favorites…

And today I received the sweetest card in the mail from my dear friend, Callie.  She is NOT a stamper, and I was so blessed to receive a hand-stamped card from her.  (I think she made it when some stampers had a retreat at her camp she helps to operate.)  I couldn’t resist putting it on my blog, as it is adorable!!!  Callie came to Texas to visit over the Easter holidays, and we had her over for dinner one night.  She has been our family babysitter for many, many years — and has kept the girls for us since they were teeny, tiny!  Now that the babysitting days are over, we’re all just one big “family” — and we jump at any opportunity to see her  when she visits Texas.   Thanks for my sweet notecard, Callie!  Miss you!!!!

I am a big fan of Paper Piecing…..another reason I love this card!  The Polka-Dotted DSP is from a retired set of paper, but they used it to create the vase for the flowers, as well as the accent on the left side of the card.  The colors are So Saffron, Ballet Blue (I think!), and Mellow Moss for the green leaves.  This image is from the stamp set called “Fun and Fast Notes”.  Have a great day!
