Fantastic Weekend!

We had wonderful weekend around here!  It started out with a very important High School football game……..important to win, and win we did!!!  We won by only 1 point — the final score was 14-13.  We led the first half 14-0, but they gained on us, and the game went down to the very last play!  Talk about nervous!  And at the same time, the Texas Rangers were making history by winning the ACLS, and I was trying to keep up with that on my ESPN iPhone app……..and did I mention that I was also trying to manage a 7 month old baby while all of this was happening?  I’m so thankful that my daughters and the teachers love my baby as much as I do.  They took turns helping hold him and it made the night so much more enjoyable.  (For those who don’t know, my hubby is a football OFFICIAL, so he is rarely with me at OUR games.  He’s on another football field!)   It was a crazy night, but the baby was a perfect little angel, and we made it!  I was so happy that I didn’t even sleep well!  We have now secured a spot in the playoffs, and we are undefeated in District Play!

So what did I do the rest of the weekend?  Well, I have alot of pictures to show you!  I mainly worked on sewing projects.  I have really been missing my sewing — I have barely touched my machine since school started — other that to repair some cheerleader uniforms!   I was blessed to have NOTHING on my agenda for the rest of the weekend other than church services.  I used this to my full advantage and worked on sewing whenever I could squeeze in a minute or two.   The teenagers were gone for the majority of the day on Saturday, and that left me with just the baby.  He was so worn out from getting shots on Friday and all the football hoopla that he slept an awful lot.  I managed to pull out a work in progress, and fiddle with a few other smaller projects.  I made sure to photo them, so you will see some of my handiwork later in the week.

The stamp project that I want to show you today is a card I made last week when I was getting ready for the Stamp Club ladies to come over.  I just had a whim to create something with some of my new images, and this is what I came up with.  The bird image is from a hostess set, Silhouette Sentiments.   The large scalloped image is “Homemade” and the words are from “Occasional Quotes”, also a hostess image.  The color scheme is Pear Pizazz, Pink Pirouette, and Early Espresso.  Lots of layers, all of them punches, makes this card look spectacular, but it is really quite quick and easy as pie!

Like I said, looking forward to showing you some of my sewing projects — hoping you won’t be disappointed that I didn’t stamp this weekend.  Sometime you just need some “therapy” and this time I need the “sewing” variety…….here is a sneak peek!  This is a Charm Pack of a new holiday line of fabrics — 42 squares that are 5″, and almost all of them are different fabrics, but they all coordinate together.  They are so, so fun to use!  So what am I doing with them?  You’ll have to wait and see!
