“Wish Big” Birthday Card

Need a birthday card?  Need to find a good place for some scraps of paper?  How about a big birthday wish using some of your favorite Designer Series Paper?  I found this idea while looking at some blogs on Saturday, and it really caught my attention.  And we all know that I have tons of paper scraps….

My strips are about 3/4″  wide and they come from the Sweet and Sour Specialty Paper pack.  I wish you could see the special glossy parts on the papers, but they just don’t photograph well at all.  On one side of each sheet you can see some shiny parts — they look like you added clear embossing powder.  I didn’t even notice it until I started working with the paper — and now I’m even more excited about using this Sweet and Sour paper!  I used the wing punch from the Two Step Bird punch for the Daffodil Delight Candles and the large Star Punch, also.   The cardstock colors are Rose Red and Pumpkin Pie.  I was thrilled to see that the Peach Parfait twill ribbon blended nicely with this new paper.  I love everything about this card……….now I just gotta decide who will be the lucky recipient!  Who has a birthday coming up…….hmmmm…..

OOPS!  Almost forgot to tell you that the stamped words at the top are from the “Short and Sweet” stamp set on page 148.  Guess it would be nice to mention the STAMPS!  Sorry gang!  I told you I like the paper….. 🙂
