The third club project this month is a card using the new Beveled Windowpanes. I love these! They are so unique and so many things can be done with them. They come in a package of 12 windowpanes — 3 sizes, 4 of each size. So, I gave my ladies a choice of 2 different cards — one uses the large windowpane (shown here) and the other uses the medium size (see tomorrow’s post). This is a card idea that I saw at Leadership. I think it is a DIRECT copy……I really liked it, and I had all the supplies, so I didn’t “reinvent the wheel”. You know, I am so good a copying, so why come up with something new? Someday, I hope to have more time to create originals, but I have accepted the fact that it is not happening anytime soon! I am just fine with copying — I do it for cards, scrapbook pages, recipes, patterns — and I’m just fine with it 🙂
So, here are a few things to note about this card. First, I used Sticky Strip on all four edges of the windowpane. Pull off the backing and press firmly into the Glass Glitter. I put my glitter into the Powder Pal tray so it didn’t go flying all over the living room, and pressed the glitter into the Sticky Strip. Voila! Gorgeous, if I may say so myself! The images from Bliss (Sale-A-Bration set) are stamped with Soft Suede and Marina Mist. I applied a few very small dots of Crystal Effects to attach the windowpane to the cardstock. If you will press down really firmly, you will cause the Crystal Effects to spread and fill the entire area and you get a very clear image with no evidence of glues or adhesives. Two more tiny details…..notice the dainty little pearls I added on the bottom section and the precious embossed butterflies. I’m so glad I bought this Sizzix embossing plate. I have really gotten my money’s worth for these little butterflies. I really didn’t think I needed them at first, ha!
Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration is still in full swing! For each $50 you spend on SU Products, you get to choose a Sale-A-Bration item. If you haven’t looked at the great options — please do so. Visit my website for details or call me! I’ll send you a catalog!
So, last night was a crazy night! Lindsey went to Leon to cheer on the Lady Leopards Basketball team — looks like both boys AND girls are headed to state! We are having a fantastic year. She will be gone almost every night cheering this week for one team or the other. Allyson was playing Soccer against our biggest rival, and we won 1-0. Yay! Then Sarah was running in her first track meet of the year in Gatesville. She got 4th place in the Mile. We were very proud, especially since she is fighting some cold/allergy junk. It is so crazy to have all 3 of my teenagers in different places and wanting to see all of them, but just not able to. I don’t particularly like this part of parenting. Thankfully they understand that I can’t clone myself and be in all places at once. Charles and I went to the soccer game since it was here in Lorena and watched the “nailbiter” game. Thankfully it was warm enough to take the baby so we both got to go to the game! It was a great game and the girls fought hard to win! Here is Allyson with one of her new friends, Zeljka. She is a foreign exchange student and the kids really like her!
