Masculine Thank You Card

I was successful in creating several new cards yesterday.  It was like a breath of fresh air to FINALLY get some time to be creative.  I had a list of thank you’s to make, and projects to try to out for my May Stamp Clubs.  I got so much done — and I love all of the cards I made!  No duds……amazing!  The hardest cards for me to create are masculine cards.  I wanted to create a very special card for the doctor who let Allyson come and shadow him last week at his clinic.  She had a fantastic experience, by the way.  I was inspired by a card in our monthly demonstrator magazine, Stampin’ Success.  It used a new set that I don’t have, but I was able to adapt it and use “Lovely As A Tree”.  This is a very old stamp set, that I thought woud retire about 3 years ago.  I still own it, and I still use it for masculine cards.  I don’t own very many sets for “manly” stamping.  I think I better invest in some more pretty soon.

There is one new accessory item on this card.  Do you see the tiny twine along the left side?  This is a new Summer Mini Catalog item called Baker’s Twine.  It is available in solid white, Cherry Cobbler/White, or Early Espresso/White.  I’m really liking it because it has a more masculine feel to it (not so frilly like ribbon) and it is very tiny.  It will not cause alot of bulk when you tie it or mail you cards.

Colors used:  Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede (ink only)

Great card. Can hardly wait to get some of that twine. How did you get your child to shadow as DR. My child would like that too.
