July Club Class Project #1

Today is the day for July club, and we are making 3 fantastic projects!  This is a fun birthday card using several new Stampin’ Up! products.  I tested out the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Pennant Parade Stamps and 3 of our new colors on this festive card.  I am so thankful that Stampin’ Up! sent me the punch AND the stamp set for FREE — it was a great reward for me!  I’m not sure I would have splurged and purchased this set right away, but I am enjoying it now!

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the new cardstock colors and compare them to the others in our collection.  Some of them are a bit similar to others, but special all at the same time.  I think you will enjoy them.  The blue on this card is Island Indigo, along with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade.  I’m a big fan of Cherry Limeade at Sonic, so I think Lucky Limeade and I will become very dear friends.  I “matched up” the blue with some Tempting Turquoise brads.  I think they looked ok, just not a perfect match, of course.  I think it added some spunk to the card that plain silver would not have added.

Another thing that I wanted to point out…….I did NOT use the new ink pads to create this card.  I pulled out my VersaMark pad and stamped the 3 colors of cardstock with the Versamark ink.  Have you forgotten about your Versamark pad?  Do you even OWN a pad like this?  If not, you need to get one.  The beauty of it is that it allows you to stamp on any color of cardstock and it turns the cardstock ONE SHADE DARKER…….a watermark effect, if you will.  It has MANY other uses, and I’d be happy to share those with you in another post, but for now, just think about how much money you can save by buying just one stamp pad.  The punch I used is a “double punch” — both shapes on one punch for $16.95.
