Pom Pom Flowers created with Fringe Scissors

This weekend I worked on several projects for my club class tomorrow, but squeezed in a little time to try making one of these “pom pom flowers” — not sure what to call it, so that’s my made-up name!  This was another idea that came from inspiration at Stampin’ Up! Leadership in January.  I am still trying out so many new ideas…..I’ll never get to all of them!

Have you seen the new Fringe Scissors in the Occasions catalog?  They are awesome and the quality is outstanding!

Fringe Scissors, 133325, $9.95

fringe scissorsIf you’d like to try to make one of these, I made this one with Stampin’ Up!’s Creped Filter Paper on page 156 of the catalog.  For $2.95 you get 4 rectangles and 8 circles.  You will fold the rectangle in half, and then in half again, to create a very long and skinny rectangle!  Place a piece of Sticky strip along the edge that is NOT folded, all the way from one end to the other.  Do NOT pull off the backing.  Cut along the folded side, stopping your cuts at  the edge of the Sticky Strip (red strip).  Pull off the Sticky Strip backing carefully……and then start rolling up your flower from one end to the other, rolling as tightly as you can.  You will then have a flower!  Fluff it up and it looks like this!  Spritz it with your Spritzing Tool in your desired color.  This one is Wisteria Wonder reinkers mixed with Alcohol.

You can also spray it with the Smooch Spritz to get a shimmery, glittery look.  It is very challenging to photgraph, though, so you probably can’t even tell I used it.  I made my tag with the new Tag Topper Scalloped Punch and the Chalk Talk stamp set.  I add Dazzling Details around the circle image, along with some pearls to dress things up.  Hope you enjoy seeing all the new accessories!  I’m really diggin’ them!
