Hello friends! I’m alive and well………and survived the Derrick-Krone wedding! It was gorgeous, but left us exhausted and broke, ha! Don’t all weddings? This is my second wedding in 18 months, so we have 2 down and 2 to go! Life with girls is always fun and exciting (but exhausting) — did I mention that I am exhausted? I titled this post “my first card of the new year” but I actually make about 30 “thank you cards” right before the wedding. I used them to thank all of the people who made our day possible, and included their payment inside. I will have to show a few snapshots of those in another post. I used two of our Stampin’ Up! kits and boy was that a LIFE SAVER…….beautiful cards and I didn’t have to think about anything. Because remember, my brain is exhausted! Always keep some kits on hand……always!
So now that I am ready to start the new year, I am ready to start some new Stampin’ adventures and get some classes planned. Stay tuned as I get my mojo going and come out of this fog. Sale-A-Bration has begun and I’m running a few weeks behind, but this was my first card to make with new stamps and new products! I used the Lots of Lavender stamp set and created a very simple card inspired by a sample I saw on Pinterest.
There are so many samples out there showing this bunch of lavender in the “traditional” way — right side up, I guess you’d say. But I was inspired to created THIS card because of the “hanging lavender” and how simple and striking it looks. This stamp set is great because you can use Stampin’ Blends or markers to color, but you don’t HAVE to color. There are 2-step stamping images that fill in the flowers and leaves so that you get a gorgeous water-color look. It is SO simple and easy. You can create this card in 5 minutes or less! Isn’t it wonderful to be successful in creating a gorgeous card that is quick and easy?
You can choose any sentiment you like, but I need lots more birthday cards, so I used the birthday greetings from another new set in the 2018 Occasions catalog – Picture Perfect Birthday. I have my monthly Stamp Club this week, so I’m eager for them to use the new goodies! And once the class is over, I have more birthday cards ready to go! I’m working VERY hard to send lots of birthday cards in 2018. I’ve been inspired by my friend Maria to MAIL MORE CARDS………what good are they doing in a box? Mail them out, and bless people! So that’s one of my goals this year — to be more INTENTIONAL about mailing out my cards.
