Gatefold Card

I was recently inspired when I happened upon a Gatefold Card at THIS BLOG when I was looking for creative inspiration.  I found a new fold that I had not seen before and I was excited to share it with my club ladies last week.  I hope that you will visit LeeAnn’s blog for the full tutorial, but it is WAY easier than it looks.  I’m thrilled to share with you my version, and hope that…

A trip to the Haunted House…

I remember going to a few Haunted Houses as a kid.  Now that I have kids of my own, I can’t even begin to torture them like that.  I know some people really like them.  But I haven’t been to any as an adult — and I don’t plan on starting now!  But how about a CUTE little Haunted House card?  This is all done in fun — and of course copied from another amazing…

Halloween Booty Card

I am extremely grateful for special cards and treats brought to me from friends and demonstrators!  This one (made by Dee) is an adorable Halloween “fun” card that she brought to me at Stamp Camp last month.  Such a fun card with lots of Stampin’ Up! elements!  I am off to my third day of work at my new job……..and we are all adjusting to the new “normal” schedule.  Is there such a thing?  I’ll…

Missing Denver and working on Halloween Cards

I got home last night from a fantastic trip to Denver.  My girlfriend Charley, who now lives in Phoenix, also came to Denver.  We had a great time together and she even let me shop at TWO quilt shops in Denver.  What a true friend — she doesn’t even sew at all!  We discovered a precious tiny little bitty town called Georgetown and enjoyed the scenic drive about an hour away from Denver.  It was…

Serene Silhouettes Sympathy Card

This is the third (and final) project that we made for September’s Club classes.  I got this idea on a blog and cased it with very few changes.  The stamp sets used were Serene Silhouettes and Petite Pairs.   I used Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder along with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I lightly sponged the Wisteria Wonder with the “stencil” made from the Apothecary Accents shape.  And the Paper Piercing added one more tiny detail —…

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!

This will be one of three projects that we made tonight at my September Stamper’s Ten Club Class.  This makes me want to take a trip to Baskin Robbins — how about you?  I saw this online and transformed it into a card that used exclusively Stampin’ Up! products and colors.  I’ve used Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron to scoop up a fun birthday card.  And the Argyle Embossing Folder made…

Have scraps of ribbon?

Who doesn’t have lots of ribbon?  Who doesn’t have lots of ribbon scraps?  All stampers seem to love hoarding ribbon…..even teeny tiny pieces of ribbon!  I am sure that you will like this idea that I first saw at Convention and decided to share at my group meeting last week.  I think it is such a great card for using up your scraps. Simpy adhere the ribbons to the Whisper White cardstock behind the opening…

Sister Friends {with a twist}

Last night at church we had a Women’s Ministry Event — “Sister Friends with a Twist” — and it was so much fun!  We had a Mexican food buffet, some singing from my ladies ensemble, and then several break-out sessions.  My break-out session was called “Stampin’ and Sharin’” and we stamped cards.  I asked that each of the ladies create a card that they would donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and then the…

Easy Events Set Sampler

Today’s post features a set of cards that I saw on a display board at Stampin’ Up! Convention this summer.  I really liked the clean, crisp look and the focus on the simplicity of the stamped images.  I used the set Easy Events (8 images) but you could certainly create a similar set of cards with many of our Stampin’ Up! stamp sets.  If you enjoy the Textured Embossing Folders as much as I do,…

Thinking of fall…

Maybe if I think about Fall long enough, the cool air will arrive a little sooner!  Doubtful, but a girl can always hope, right? I cased part of this card from an online sample.  I really liked the fall colors and the Core’dinations paper for the woodgrain, tree-trunk look.  The leaves are from the Falling Leaves stamp set and I stamped them using Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and More Mustard.  Then the outline was stamped…
