Malachi’s Visit and Sarah’s Colorguard Competition

If you missed my weekend post, you might want to scroll down and read about Malachi coming to visit.  He was here for the weekend, and we had so much fun!  We had Malachi for 16 months (started at age 5 weeks) and he has been gone since September of 2008.  We saw him Christmas 2008, but other than that, we have not seen him at all.  When he left our home, he was not…

Snow Day!!!!

What a fun, exciting day we had yesterday!  We had more snow here in Texas than I think I have EVER seen — and that includes all of my 42 years!  It was a great joy to have the kids home from school by 10 am, and we quickly went outside to make a snowman and throw snowballs!   I must admit that after 2 loads of wet clothes, mud/water tracked all over the floors, and…

Weekend Review…

Well, I’ll start with Friday because “technically” it is the start of the weekend.  It poured down rain all day, and the temps dropped about 30 degrees in 30 minutes……..and I stayed indoors all day long!  I took the opportunity to start on a throw-size quilt for my own living room.  I found the fabrics in Waco at Tomorrow’s Quilts.  I have never made a quilt from start to finish, so I’ll keep you posted…

Photos from the Thanksgiving Holidays…

Thanksgiving was wonderful at our house!  Hope you enjoyed time to eat, visit with family, eat, watch some movies, eat, go shopping, and eat some more!  We had a great Thanksgiving Day and took some “fall photos” of us with a big pile of leaves in Grammy’s back yard.  But, honestly, the BIG DEAL in our family was the Playoff Football Game!  We are still jumping for joy that we WON and we are headed…

Delightful Decorations Card and Lots of Family Stuff…

Hello friends!  Lots of stuff going on around here………as usual!  And I want to show some photos from the weekend, but only after the Stampin’ Up! project…….. I finally found a little window of time to stamp with my new set “Delightful Decorations” and use some new DSP “Merry Moments”.  Oh, and the new Ornament  punch, too, from the Mini Catalog (page 25).  You know that I love a quick, easy card, so this fits…

I’m back!

Good morning to all of you!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend — a longer 3 day weekend — and feel refreshed and ready to tackle the “shorter” week!  I was so glad to have the day with my family and not feel pressured to get out of the house early this morning.  (Back to the 6:30 a.m. volleyball practices tomorrow, though!)  I had a great time scrapbooking in my jammies most of the weekend. …

Gift Card Holder – Girly Version and First Day of School Photos

Yesterday’s post included dimensions and directions for this gift card holder.  I wanted to offer two options for my guests at my worshop.   Yesterday’s Rocket was the “boy” version, and today’s Hippo was the girl version.    THe Hippo was a little wider than the rocket image, so I turned the gift card holder sideways.  Everything else is the same! Supplies Used: Stamps:  Pun Fun, Whimsy Wheel Ink:  Versamark (wheel) and StazOn (hippo) Ink for watercoloring: …

Durango to Silverton Train Ride

If you are looking for Stampin’ Up! stuff, you may want to go to the next few posts.  We had some “lag time” at the house today while the gang was watching a movie, so I decided to post a few photos (for the grandparents mainly) and to share our gorgeous scenery with you.  We rode a bus to Durango, Colorado, and then caught the train to Silverton.  The trip was really great, although I…

Happy Birthday, Sarah!

I’m sorry I don’t have a stamp project to show you today.  We had a very busy day yesterday!  At lunchtime yesterday, we sang a little “mini concert” and shared some of our personal testimony about Foster Parenting.   We presented at a church that we attended for a few years when the girls were smaller.  We did some family songs, and some individual things, too.  It was so much fun seeing the Sr. Adults from…

Father’s Day Weekend

Happy Monday to all!  I hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend.  I always struggle a little bit with Father’s Day.  Even though my husband is such a Godly father and role model, I have not always had a father in my own life.  I always struggle with being joyful for the man I have now and the father that my children are blessed with, and yet the overwhelming sadness for the relationship that…
