A Bittersweet Ending…

We had a wonderful weekend traveling to the AREA BAND CONTEST on Saturday.  However, it is a bittersweet ending.  We competed with 26  3A Bands on Saturday and we placed 8th in the “Top 10” Bands for the day.  We proceeded to the finals on Saturday evening, but we did not make the “Top 5” from these final performances.  We were sad that it had ended, but we were happy to know that we didn’t…

We are still “flying high” from a very exciting weekend with many high points!  First, you must appreciate Texas Football to really understand our excitment when we won ANOTHER football game on Friday night.  You must also know that our small 3A High School has NOT had success on the field in several years (none since we moved here 6…

Homecoming Week (Last Week)

Hello friends!  I hope you won’t mind me showing some fun stuff from Homecoming last week.  I have gotten some e-mails asking for the Hippie Photos……..no, I didn’t forget!  Each day was a different theme and we dressed up (or THEY dressed up) according to the theme.  I tried to join in the fun most of the time, but the kids were much more spirited than the teachers!  Day 1 was Camo Day………and the day…

Drumline Competition

Our drumlines did FABULOUS on Saturday as they competed in Plano, Texas.  I couldn’t resist showing you photos of the kids at their first competition of the year. This is the High School Drumline.  Allyson and Lindsey play the percussion instruments on the left side of the photo.  They switch places alot, playing many different instruments in each song. Closer-up with Lindsey on the chimes. Allyson is on the mallets in this photo.  This is the…

Happy Birthday, Kristi!

One of my best friends, Kristi, is celebrating her “29th Birthday” today!  😉  When we got together to eat a few days ago, this is the card and candle that I took to her.  It uses the Criss Cross Technique.  I found this technique on Split Coast Stampers and I love it!  I hope that you will take time to reflect and remember as we honor September 11th.  I pray that you are thankful, as…

Criss Cross Cards

Hey gang!  We had a really fun trip to San Antonio for the Labor Day Weekend.  (Just us girls!) I am still playing a little “catch up” and didn’t find time to post yesterday.  Sorry!  I had a meeting for my Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators last night, so it stole most of my attention when I got home.  Thankfully, I had done most of the prep work before leaving town…….thus, we enjoyed the trip all the…

Children are like Kites…

One more week and Summer 2008 will be a thing of the past.  Guess I am getting a little sentimental these days…….many reasons and many things I am thinking about.  We went out to eat at Logan’s Roadhouse Wednesday night and I got Charles to snap a photo.  I am really liking this photo (I actually think I look OK — aren’t we always so critical of ourselves?) and it will be one of our…
