Family Updates and The Kristi Bag

I’m sorry I didn’t take time to post about this sooner, but I’ve had so many things pulling for my attention.  My Father-in-law is home and recovering from several biopsies on his face and neck.  The doctor went in to do surgery on his facial tumor, but was able to quickly biopsy it and determine that it is lymphoma.  He did not try to remove it, but stitched him back up.  We knew going into…

Praises, Prayer Needs, and a Purple Tote

Well, how’s that for a title?  These are the 3 things I need to tell you about today…. PRAISES first……I met my mom in Ft. Worth yesterday to meet with her Oncologist.  She had more scans and tests run last week (three month check-up) and there is no change, no new growth, and no concerns at this time.  So, since we have had good reports the last 3 times, he is moving her to 4 month…

Allyson’s Quilt Backing

You might remember this quilt….I finished the top a couple of weeks ago.  It is going to Hardin-Simmons University with Allyson.  She has made her official decision after being chose to be a part of the Honors Program at HSU.  She is very excited!  I wanted to do a pieced backing like I have seen on so many blogs here lately.  I had plenty of scraps to use for a strip, and I really like…

Get Well Card and Rectangle Reverie Quilt

What a pitiful little dog…..makes me feel sick just looking at him!  My father-in-law is in the hospital with a bad virus/infection of some sort, and it got me to thinking that I had very little (or no) get well cards in my stash.  So, I’m going to show 3 different cards this week using the Wellness Wishes stamp set.  It is a very tiny set with 3 images — each one very different in…

Club Project #2 and Barrett’s Baby Quilt

Our second project this week was a card using the Punch Bunch Sale-A-Bration set.  I gave them the choice of making either a baby version, or a happy birthday version.  If you look really closely, you will see some white “sponging” type of look on the So Saffron background.  Do you see it now?  Well, I rubbed the White Craft Ink Pad onto the Embossing Folder, and then ran the cardstock through the Big…

Finally feeling better!

I’m so happy to report that I’m finally feeling better!  I was able to do some tidying up around the house yesterday, work on Stamp Club cards, and take Sarah to the orthodontist……..and I didn’t pass out in the process!   I was careful to not overdo it, since I really don’t want a relapse……and I’m going to take it easy today, too!  I plan on finishing up the samples for Club next week, and going…

Hannah’s Sampler Quilt Top

COMPLETED!  I’m very thrilled to announce another completion for 2011……but really not totally complete.  The top is sewn and I will now search for the perfect fabric for the back and get it to a long-arm quilter sometime this spring.  But the HARD work is done…….and I couldn’t be happier with this quilt! This was a Block of the Month program from the fantastic quilt shop in Waxahachie, Texas.  I started with one block last…

Sewing projects that I’m trying to squeeze in…

I decided to do a second post today with some new sewing projects and new fabrics that I’ve recently acquired.  (“acquired” sounds better than having “purchased” and actually spent money, don’t you think?)   I took some pictures this morning to show you some new fabrics that I’m super happy about and I’ll look forward to showing you projects created with them in the months to come……..and just for the record, I love looking at them…

My traveling companion…

Lots of “stuff” going on this week……..lots of things I needed to get accomplished and honestly, I am feeling very frustrated right now.  I’m supposed to be going on a scrapbooking retreat Thursday night through Sunday — need desperately to pack for that.  But, we recently found out that we are heading to Abilene for the day on Friday to take Allyson to an interview for the Honors Program at Hardin-Simmons.  I am excited about this, but…

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Good morning!  And Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope you get treated to something sweet today — by all the people who love you so much!!!  I had several projects that I was working on last week, and most of them were not Stampin’ related at all.  You know me, I always have many things going on at once.  One thing that I had to work on was for our Valentine’s banquest at church.  It is…
