Thanks for your kindness…

While working on some other projects for Club next week, I managed to make a few other cards “just for fun”.  I made a few cards using the new “With Gratitude” Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I think this paper is SO GORGEOUS that you barely need to stamp!  The paper does all the work for you….and the colors are so, so FALL.  Just perfect for FALL — and I love the way FALL makes me feel when…

Christmas Quilt Progress…

I wanted to show you the progress I’ve made on the Christmas Quilt.  I decided to continue sqeezing in a little more work on this unfinished project.  I really need to be doing other things, but this has grabbed my attention for the time being, and I can’t seem to ignore it for too long.  Here is a photo with the 2 borders added.  I added a 2″ Red Print and a 5″ Green Holly…

What do you do with 490 rectangle segments?

You make a quilt!  Here are the segments…all 490 of them, which actually means 980 squares!  But, not actually…..because I sewed long strips of the “Very Vanilla Material” with strips of the prints, and then cut them into 2 1/2″ segments.  So, it was not as hard as it looks, but try telling that to my wrist.  I cut out about 2/3 of these this summer, right before convention, and it took my wrist about…

Christmas Quilt

Yesterday, I showed you a Charm Pack from one of Moda’s new Christmas collections.  I took the charm pack and sewed all 42 of the charm squares together to make  the center for a small throw quilt.  I’m pleased with the colors and the fabrics, and I can’t wait to work on it even more.   I went and bought  2 fabrics for borders.  A small 2″ red border will be sewn on first and then…

Fantastic Weekend!

We had wonderful weekend around here!  It started out with a very important High School football game……..important to win, and win we did!!!  We won by only 1 point — the final score was 14-13.  We led the first half 14-0, but they gained on us, and the game went down to the very last play!  Talk about nervous!  And at the same time, the Texas Rangers were making history by winning the ACLS, and…

A little handiwork…

Good morning…I headed out yesterday for Brownwood with Allyson.  We are visiting Howard Payne University and enjoying some mother/daughter time.  Howard Payne is in the top 3 of her college choices and this is her second visit.  We are going for a “second round” to each of the colleges and praying that God will help us decide which one is the best fit for her.  Please join us in praying for our decision making.  I…

“Whoo” made this little wallet?

Why, I did, of course!  This was a little thing I was trying out to see how TRULY easy it was……and to see if I wanted to make more for Christmas or Birthday presents.  The results are in, and it is truly a quick project.  It might have taken me 30 minutes, including tracing the pattern, cutting, AND sewing.  I bet I can make the next one in about 15 minutes. Not sure why these…

Feeling better…

Praise the Lord, I am feeling better today.  I am headed out to a court hearing for Josiah today.  It will probably not be very “eventful”, just a routine type of hearing, but it will still consume most of my morning and maybe even more.  I am feeling a little behind since I was in bed all day yesterday, but I’m praying the Lord will multiply my time between now and Friday.  We leave early…

Quilted Journals (part 2)

These are the other 2 fabric choices that I used for my quilted journals.  If you haven’t read yesterday’s post, please scroll on down for the details, the pattern, and all the scoop!  I also made one more, for myself, using some of my 30’s Reproduction fabrics.  I forgot to photograph that one, so I’ll show it to you next week when I am home from convention.  I will be flying home tomorrow…….say prayers for…
