Is it Monday again??? Already??? Yes, it is Monday again, and I hope yours is starting off well! I will probably do a little stamping later on today, and will post something if I do. For now, I just want to let you know that the 3D treat from my Stamp Camp was originally posted here by another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator that does such a great job on her blog! If you like that idea, you can get the pattern as a free download or contact me and I will e-mail it to you directly.
The stamp set used on the circle (the flower center) is from the set Circle of Friendship. It is a part of the eScape bundle currently selling for $30 — complete with cards, ribbon, and a stamp pad! It is a great value.
Do you wish you could have attended my Stamp Camp on Friday? Do you really want those cute cards and the candy holder? Guess what? You can have them…….for a small price, that is! I have bundled up all the pieces, I have even stamped the images, punched the punches, and done everything for you! Would you like to buy the kit? You have 2 options:
OPTION 1: $10 for all the pieces and 4 envelopes mailed to you!
OPTION 2: $12 for complete assembly and finished products mailed to you!
Please respond quickly and I will mail them to you right away. There is no extra charge for postage on this offer. I just want to “liquidate” these kits and make you smile, too!
On a personal note, Charles is scheduled for his second heart surgery on Weds. We are praying for a completely successful surgery this time! Please join me in this prayer. I will post as soon as I possibly can on Wednesday, so check back in the evening.
Just a quick post to let you know that I still have several openings in my Stamp Camp tonight. Please see the posts from the last few days for project samples and Stamp Camp details. These are simple projects — great projects for beginners or those who are new to stamping! Grab a friend and bring ’em along. Please RSVP, though, so I will know how many are coming! Have a great weekend!
As promised, here are the other 2 projects for Friday’s stamp camp. I hope you like them and will try to come and make them. I will also be offering kits for the cards if the camp does not fill up. I have prepared 15 of everything, so I will sell the pieces if you want to create them at home. I will ship the kits to out-of-town customers for a small fee. The card features our Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper. I love this paper and it will retire at the end of the month 🙁 It also uses images from the Sneak Peek Stamp Set called Fresh Cuts. The 3-D project is a small candy bar holder that uses the stamp set “Circle of Friendship” — also available with a June Promotion. You can click on the sidebar for more information about these two promotions.

I will be out of pocket on Thursday…….traveling to the Scrapbook Convention in Arlington to spend some of my “stash”…….you do that too don’t you??? Stash some away for that special shopping trip??? I have a t-shirt that I got last year that says it perfectly…….”My husband lets me buy all the scrapbook supplies that I can hide!”
Hello again! I want to post 3 of the cards for Friday night’s Stamp Camp. I have received a few RSVP’s but there are still several openings. Grab a friend and come on over for some fun! Check out the last post for all the details! The first 2 cards ideas came from the monthly Stampin’ Success magazine that SU send to its demonstrators. It is such a fabulous resource! The last card is adapted from another blog that I enjoy and can be found here. I have one more card and a 3-D project that we will make at the class. I will try to post those samples tomorrow, but I have a pretty hectic day ahead of me. I will try, though! Have a great day! Dawn
I will apologize up front for the length of this post. However, if you like Stampin’ Up! and you enjoy saving money on our products, then you might want to read the WHOLE THING!

Hello to all of you! I hope your Monday morning is off to a great start! I just can’t wait to tell you guys about my fun weekend and the great birthday presents that arrived a little bit late………but they were SO worth the wait!
My special girlfriend Charley, that moved to Phoenix a few years ago, sent me a fabulous package on Saturday. It was full of several small gifts — personalized notepads in a cute miniature tote, magnetic notepads with Christian quotes on them, and a keyring with a cute “friend” saying!!! It was so fun to get something special from a far-away friend. Thanks Charley!!!! I love you!!!!
Then on Saturday afternoon, my friend Ronda came over with a gift and a fruit pizza! It was about 100 degrees outside and this “cool” treat really hit the spot. The whole family enjoyed this light and tasty snack! She brought me an adorable card with a gift certificate for a DELUXE PEDICURE inside! Oh, and $5 for the tip!!! How thoughtful was that??? Here is a photo of our visit….
But I am not done yet…….then I left and went out to eat with some of my “bestest” girlfriends…….we are all scrapbooking buddies. We have known each other for about 10 years — you know the kind of girlfriend that knows everything about you and still loves you anyway???? That’s us! We went to Texas Roadhouse and had a delicious dinner and laughed so hard my face hurt when the evening was over. We stayed in this one booth for at least 2 hours, and I am sure the waitress wanted us to leave! We eventually left and went to Cold Stone Creamery to continue laughing and talking some more. But the funniest thing happened. They each brought me a card and inside was a $10 Gift Card to Brookshire’s……..each card had another gift card in it! So now, thanks to my dear husband, I have enough gift cards to buy a whole bill of groceries! It was the funniest thing ever — such a cruel, yet funny joke! Thanks gals!!!! I love you to death! Here we are…
So, I am really thankful for girlfriends!!! They helped to make up for my disappointments on the ACTUAL day of my birthday………and lots of people have given Charles grief over his not-so-good gifts! I have lots of Stampin’ surprises for you later today. We have new specials, a new stamp set that is being offered as a sneak peek into the new catalog, and I have new samples I have worked on using that set!!!
Stay tuned and check back later today for new stuff. Nothing more about my birthday, I promise to stop now!
Yes, this is the “official” graduation week, but now it is all over! My neice graduated from a local school last night, a very LARGE local school, so we were very late getting home. I usually work on the blog late at night before I go to bed, but I was too tired last night! I am thankful for the last day of school (yesterday) and all the graduations are over! Summer is officially here!
I hope that this finds you having a great weekend! I did the graduation card over again with different colors (to match the school colors of red and blue) and added a little glitter this time. Just gave it a little twist…….
I am going out with my very best girlfriends tonight for my birthday celebration……might help make up for the rotten gift I got from Charles! We’ll see!!! Thanks for all of the comments I got and all the sympathy! My girls have given Dad a really hard time about it all. I feel good knowing that Allyson can drive soon and she can go do the shopping for my birthday next year!!! We are going to Texas Roadhouse tonight, so it will be another yummy night!
Supplies used:Stamps: Phrases for a Friend, Background Basics; Ink: Read Red; Markers: Going Gray, Real Red, Brilliant Blue; Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Brilliant Blue; Other: Rhinestone Brads (clear – from the Pretties Kit), Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon; 1/2″ Circle Punch, White Craft Ink (to paint the stars), Chipboard Stars, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
Hello gang! Yes, I am another year older……..and now have TWO high school daughters! I am feeling young, but acting old — according to my teenagers, that is! For some reason, my clothes and shoes have to pass inspection. If they disappear into Lindsey’s closet, then I know that I have something that is REALLY COOL! That does not happen too often, so guess I am getting old and choosing “grandma” clothes. Scary thought! At any rate, we did celebrate my birthday by going out to eat and Allyson made me this cake yesterday after she got home from her finals. I was out shopping for Vacation Bible School supplies, but she baked this sweet cake all by herself and decorated it with my favorite color — pink! I wish that I could tell you that I got some nice gifts, but my husband is not gifted in that area – no pun intended. He is a real gem in most every way, but giving gifts is not his “love language” if you are familiar with that concept. So………it is always a struggle for me because I am a very giving person and love to purchase or create homemade gifts for those I love. You would think that after 20 years with this man that I would have learned by now………but I always hope that he has changed. Well, let me assure you he has NOT!!! Here is my card and my gift……….go ahead and check it out carefully……….
In case you need a little help, this is a card with flamingos — the lawn ornament variety — and a gift card to Brookshire’s — the local grocery store! And then the second photo is the inside of this strangely humorous card (or at least I think it is supposed to be humerous!). My daughter loves flamingos, so that is why it caught his eye. Not because his wife would like a card of this type………so sad……….
So, to ease the pain, I promptly took a trip to the mall. First, I had a delicious lunch at Jason’s with my dear friend Kristi…….then I shopped! I saw on FOX News that shopping is great therapy for women. I tried it out. I feel much better after getting some new clothes and some new Bath and Body Products (in a nice tote bag, might I add!)…….maybe I should show you photos of those, but no time for that right now. I need to show you those teacher gifts.
The top two photos are Mini Composition Books from Wal Mart. They are covered with DSP that is cut 3″ x 4 1/2″ and then the corners are rounded. I used the same alphabet and frame from yesterday’s post. But, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to perfectly position all of the letters inside the frames. Yesterday, I was feeling a little too lazy to get out the SMAJ……..I decided to CUT OUT all those alpahbet letters. How crazy was that??? Well, today, I used the SMAJ, and placed the letters perfectly in the center and did not mess ANY of them up! I would like to have made a little photo tutorial of the steps to making this, but my daughter had my camera at her end-of-school party…….so I didn’t do it. I will try again soon!
The bottom photo shows some of the candy bars I made for the 8th and 9th grade teachers. Some of them are men, so I couldn’t do journals……..food always seems to be the best solution! The DSP that forms the band is cut 3″x7″. I wrapped it snuggly around the candy bar and used SNAIL adhesive to hold it. I stamped the Circle of Friendship image that says “Thank You, etc” and then used my Circle punches. I was done with these treats in no time flat! I added ribbon, and the image is mounted onto the band using Dimensionals. There is an awesome special coming out soon that offers this stamp set………watch for more details in the next few days.
Thanks for all of the phone calls today to wish me a Happy Birthday! I love all my girlfriends!!!! …..and by the way, we ate Chinese food and it was yummy. Didn’t make up for the gift, but maybe this form of public announcement will cause him to re-think the next occasion. Doubt it, but just maybe……….what do I have to loose????
Good morning! Today’s post is another journal book. These were made by Lindsey (with mom’s help) for her friends in her yearbook class. They are a “tight-knit” group of eleven girls that have done some SERIOUS bonding this year. She really wanted to make them a treat for the last day of school and this is what we came up with. The small floral printed paper is from my “scrapbooking stash” and is not a Stampin’ Up! product. Some of the ribbons are not SU either. The journal came from Michael’s and originally had a Mary Engelbreit image on the front. I just love transforming these journals and hiding the old stuff!!!
I hope you all have a great day! I am going to try and enjoy the LAST DAY that my kids are in school all day long. Friday is a 1/2 day……..our final day. Summer is upon us!
Supplies used: Stamps: Big Deal Alphabet, Sweet Dreams (scalloped frame); Ink: Positively Pink, Certainly Celery; Cardstock: Positively Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White; Ribbon: Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turqoise, White Grosgrain, Pink Stitched and Green Polka Dot are from Hobby Lobby.
Good morning! Yesterday was Lindsey’s Middle School graduation. She is now an “official” high school student! I am feeling a bit older today, now that I have TWO high school kids! This card was made for Lindsey and I am making a few more (in the appropriate school colors) for my neice and some other friends. I used some chipboard stars, colored them with White Craft Ink, and added the rhinestone brads for a feminine touch. The “congratulations” words are from the Mini Catalog. I love the look when you color the letters with markers! It just seems to add alot of character to this card! There are 4 phrases in this stamp set — Thinking of You, Congratulations, Thanks so much, Celebrate You…..great words for the cards I make! Sorry the photo of this card is not that great. I waited until late last night to photo it (after I gave it to Lindsey) and that was a mistake.
This photo is taken on our back porch right before we left for graduation. It was VERY stormy here, starting around 4 in the afternoon and the sun came out right as we were leaving to go to the school. What a blessing! It was still raining a little bit, so we stood out on the back porch for a few photos. I am a big fan of “natural light” photos. They are always so much better! If you look above our heads, you will see a rainbow!!! What a joy to see this after 3 hours of pouring rain! And if you look closely, you will see a “black spot” — yes, that is a little (maybe it is big) bug that flew into our photo. We will have to edit this one on the computer! At any rate, not the best photo of ME personally, but it was a special moment and I will treasure this memory. I would also like to point out that Lindsey is TALLER than me……….scary!!!! She did have on shoes with heels, but she is still a little taller.
Welcome to my blog! I love sharing my creative projects with others! I enjoy stamping hand-made cards, quilt-making, sewing anything and everything, traveling, and drinking coffee. We stay busy with 3 grown children and an active 9 year old.....my creative time is my "therapy" and I'm constantly planning my next project.
