Upcoming Events

I have two opportunities to come stamp at my home during the month of June.  I am going to briefly tell you about them and post the samples this week and next.  I hope you’ll join me if you are local, and would like a chance to have a “ladies night out” with some papercrafting, snacks, and friends!

Tuesday, June 13th will be my monthly Stamp Club group.  You do not have to be a monthly member to attend.  In fact, I welcome visitors any time!  Just send me a message and let me know you’re coming so that I cut enough paper for you.  We meet at my house from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and we stamp THREE projects each month.  This month, we will be using brand new stamp sets and accessories from the newly released Stampin’ Up! catalog.  Do you have a copy?  Do you need a copy?  Let me know if you still need a copy and I’ll send you one in the mail.  I’d love to be your demonstrator if you don’t already have one.  I’ve been doing this for 19 years, so I have a lot of experience and just a “few” tricks up my sleeve!  (*wink*)  I love what I do, and treasure the tiny moments in my life when I can escape to my office and stamp!

On Tuesday, June 20th, I will host a technique class that will feature FIVE WAYS TO WATERCOLOR.  I’m really excited about the samples I’ve created for this class using all five of the new colors in the Stampin’ Up! In Color Collection.  Featured above are three of the colors — Fresh Fig, Powder Pink, and Berry Burst.   You’ll never believe how easy this technique is……..and would you believe we will use an iron to make this card???  If you’re intrigued and want to learn more, please RSVP for my class on June 20th at 6:30 pm.

I’ll continue to post additional samples from both of these classes here, and also on my Facebook Page.  Make sure you LIKE my Facebook Business Page:  Dawn Perry Derrick Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.   THANK YOU!

Another Gift Card Set

Before I get distracted, today is the OFFICIAL LAUNCH of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog!!!  You can order online 24/7 by clicking on the link in the sidebar, or contact me directly if you’d like to place an order.  If you don’t have your own personal copy of the catalog, give me a shout and I’ll get one to you right away!   Online shopping is fun, but you really need your own catalog to soak it all in!

This is the second set of cards that I made for a friend at work.  These were super quick and easy to put together!  The “thank you” image that I used on two of the cards is now retired, but I have held on to it because I really enjoy using it.  I like the larger size, and the font, too.   If you missed my last post, I mentioned that these clear gift boxes are wonderful for presenting a hand-stamped set of cards.  I purchased them from Etsy, and I’ve really enjoyed the “finished look” that they give to my projects.

I created two of each style, and wrapped them up!  Supplies are shown below.

Definitely Dahlia Gift Card Set

I had a coworker ask for me to create a couple of Gift Sets for her to give a loved one.  She is an elderly lady, so I wanted something with a more traditional feel.  I packaged them in some clear card boxes that I purchased on Etsy.  I like keeping these on hand for gift-giving.  I usually add a wide grosgrain or sheer ribbon and a gift tag for the recipient.  Las year when Lindsey needed lots of hostess gifts for her bridal showers, we made Monogrammed note card sets for each of the hostesses.  They were VERY well received.  I love using my Stampin’ Up! supplies to make personalized gifts!  Why don’t you give it a try!

Time for Graduation Cards!

It’s time to create some graduation cards and send well wishes to the “Class of 2017” graduates!   I found some inspiration on Pinterest, so I can’t claim this idea entirely, but I am using different color schemes to coordinate with the school colors in our area.  This one was created for a customer order for one of my coworkers.  She loved it, and I hope it will give you some inspiration, also!

If you are local, please join me for my next event on June 1st, as we unveil the new catalog!  I will be having a Watercoloring Technique Class featuring 5 ways to watercolor with Stampin’ Up!’s Aqua Painters, and the 5 new colors in the new In Color Collection.   I know you will really enjoy this hands-on class being held at my house, at 6:30 p.m.   Please join us on Thursday, June 1st, and leave with fresh ideas and a goodie bag, too!  Class fee is $15, or free if you place a $30 order.   Event details are on my Business Facebook Page, found HERE.   Make sure you like my page to stay up to speed with all of my events.

I used a bunch of Dimensionals to give this some depth and stabilize all parts of the numbers.   I don’t have a punch for the mortar board, but I free-handed the diamond shape and it turned out fine.  For the “cap” part, I took a strip of Basic Black cardstock and cut the end of it with a large heart punch to get the “pointed end” nice and even. ( I hope that makes sense without a picture tutorial. )

Eastern Palace Card #5

I enjoyed making another card showcasing the Eastern Medallion Framelits.  Still can’t get over the intricacies of these dies!  Take note of the little dabble of gold accents that I added to this one.  I used the Layering Circle Framelits to cut out the Very Vanilla circle, the gold scalloped circle, and the outside shape of the Lemon Lime Twist medallion.  The dies in the Eastern Medallion set are very versatile — and there are at least 50 different combinations.  There are several shapes that I have not used in ANY of the samples that I’ve created.  I am going to work on making a sampler to show off all the pieces!

If you purchase either of the Eastern Palace Bundles by Wednesday, May 17th, please use this Hostess Code:  QCXVBQGF and receive a $10 gift certificate from me (or $20 for the larger one) toward your next purchase with me.  Your order will be greatly appreciated and you will be rewarded!

Although the Very Vanilla cardstock looks DSP, I actually stamped it with an image from the stamp set.  The  one inch strip actually is printed paper, though.  I can’t wait for Stamp Club ladies to use this set on Tuesday night!

Eastern Palace Card #4

Sometimes less is more.  I feel that this card is one of those examples.  And talk about fast and easy……wow!  Notice the stitched details around these square shapes?  This attention to detail is what adds a little “punch” to a simple card.  And I didn’t work any harder to create this……in fact, it was easier than ever.  Check out the Stitched Shapes Framelits in the supply list below.  You’ll get circles, squares, and ovals in 12 different sizes.  Perfect for everything!  The beautiful green shade is one of our new In Colors with the name of Tranquil Tide.   Don’t you love it?  Just the right amount of green and blue!   The Eastern Palace Bundle shown below is a special offer during the month of May.

If you purchase the Eastern Palace Bundle by Wednesday, May 17th, please use this Hostess Code:  QCXVBQGF and receive a $10 gift certificate from me toward your next purchase with me.  Your order will be greatly appreciated and I will reward you!

Eastern Beauty Card #2

This is another gorgeous sample using the Eastern Palace Premium Bundle.  I wish you could see how pretty the gold foil is on the Designer Series Paper.  It really doesn’t photograph all that well, but it is so pretty in real life!

This is such a very simple design and the DSP measures 3 3/4″ square so you can get 9 cards like this from one sheet of 12×12 DSP.  I like to create cards with simple measurements that allow the maximum usage with my DSP and very little waste!  The deep rich color you see behind the DSP is our new In Color FRESH FIG.  WOW!  It is a very dynamic color!

If you are interested in purchasing the bundle before May 17th, please make sure to use the Hostess Code QCSVBQGF.

Eastern Beauty Card #1

I’m loving the new Stampin’ Up! catalog………and I’m slowly finding time to play with new products!  I’m a little behind, and you’ve probably seen quite a few cards by now with this Eastern Palace Bundle, but what can I say?  I’m a busy mom that works a full-time job, and my creative time is ultra limited!  But when I do find time to create……..I grab my Big Shot and get it rolling.  These new Eastern Medallion Framelits are the greatest!  They make all my cards look fancy, but they are easy-peasy!  Don’t you love it when it looks like you spent alot of time on something, but you didn’t?

Take a look at the Bundles shown below — there is a Starter Bundle and a Premium Bundle.  If you want the Framelits, you will need to purchase the Premium Bundle.

If you purchase either Bundle by Wednesday, May 17th, please use this Hostess Code:  QCXVBQGF and receive a $10 gift certificate from me toward your next purchase with me.  Your order will be greatly appreciated and I will reward you!

Check back with me!  I will be posting many more samples with this set, and you’re sure to enjoy them!

Easter Blessings {Two Color Schemes}

First of all, let me apologize for not blogging in awhile.  I was on a roll for a little bit, but then a new little foster baby came to our home on March 9th, and we’ve been getting settled in to our new “normal”.  But I want to get some Easter cards posted for you all to see since Easter is quickly approaching!  We made these cards at my club class in March (the VERY night the baby arrived) and my ladies really liked how they turned out.  The glimmer paper is not available any more since it was a Sale-A-Bration product, but I still think you’ll enjoy the card idea.

The card above used Pool Party and Bermuda Bay cardstock.  The supplies are basically the same, so I’ve only included the details on the Sweet Sugarplum version shown below.
